On November 21-26 a study visit of Chisinau delegation was held in Public Transport Authority in Lublin as part of the "MOVE IT like Lublin" project financed by the EU.

The Chisinau delegation consisted of experts and engineers of the transport management sector. This is the third study visit being held as part of an international project led by the capital of Moldova.

The programme included presentations and practical workshops on technical requirements and maintenance of public transport infrastructure. During the training, participants also learnt about the latest innovations and projects implemented in Lublin.

Moreover, there were demonstrations and detailed discussions on maintaining and repairs, of gearboxes, drivetrains and Bridges etc., as well as bus maintenance techniques. Methods of ongoing repairs of trolleybuses and maintenance of the trolleybus network were also presented together with technical aspects of the operation of electric and hydrogen buses.

The guests learnt about trolleybuses with asynchronous drive and the VETRA system, used to manage switches in the trolleybus traction network. They also aquired knowledge of the operation of rectifier stations and traction substations.

The participants emphasized the importance of this training: "The study visit to Lublin is an excellent opportunity to exchange international best practices regarding public transport. We appreciate all the opportunities we have here and have ongoing discussions with our colleagues who share their experiences with us.”

The project "MOVE IT like Lublin - a Chisinau public transport sustainable development initiative" received funding under the EU program Local Authorities: Partnerships for sustainable cities 2020. The project is being implemented in 2021-2025.
