Four representatives of the public transport sector in Lublin took part in a second study visit to Chișinău from September 25 to 29.

The main purpose of this visit was experience exchange and adoption of European best practices in public transport. The delegation took part in many meetings, e.g. alongside the implementation team of the "MOVE IT like Lublin" project and with representatives of the Chișinău City Hall, led by Deputy Mayor Ilie Ceban. Among the topics discussed were the ventures taken within the project, as well as the presentation of planned activities, such as the implementation of "park and ride" parking lots, the Traffic Monitoring Centre launch, the development of a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, and the introduction of electronic ticketing system in public transport. Experts also held meetings with representatives of the General Directorate of Urban Mobility. Regie Transport Electric Chișinău (RTEC) and Urban Bus Park. The discussions covered a wide range of topics related to the improvement of public transport in Chisinau by implementation of the best European practices.

"We are delighted with what we have learnt from our partners in Lublin. The solutions and visions proposed align with our expectations and city development plans. This collaboration provides an opportunity for the development of public transport in Chișinău, improving mobility, and creating an environmentally friendly city," said Ilie Ceban, Deputy Mayor of Chisinau.

The project "MOVE IT like Lublin - a Chisinau public transport sustainable development initiative" received funding under the EU program Local Authorities: Partnerships for sustainable cities 2020. The project is being implemented in 2021-2025.
